Made by The Franklin Mint, this is a 1:48 scale die-cast model of the B-17F Flying Fortress, "Memphis Belle." During the first few months of America's combat flights over Europe, more then eight in ten bombers were shot down. To boost morale, the War Department said any crew could go home after 25 missions. On May 17, 1943, the B-17 Memphis Belle was the first to meet the challenge...without losing a single crew member. Often riddled with bullets and flak, she had her engines shot out five times and once nearly lost her tail.

One of the most famous strategic aircraft of WWII re-created in 1:48 scale. The intricate re-creation captures every feature of the actual bomber. Detailed fuselage. Four engine housings built into the wings. Landing gear and armament. Hand-painted and enhanced by authentic military markings, including the original nose art. Turrets and guns can be positioned. The canopy and ball turrets swivel 360 degrees.
